If you're a mum wanting to start your own business, it can be daunting, but our reporter Justine Conway has found a success story. 

Entrepreneur and mentor Fi Bendall from Bendalls Group joined TODAY this morning with some tips on how you can start your own business.

“The very first place to start is just to go and talk to other people like myself. There’s nothing better than to turn to people for peer to peer support,” Fi said.

“It’s different for everybody but taking advice from other mums is probably the first place to start,” she said.

Fi said you must stick to you expertise and find something your passionate about.

“Anybody that works for themselves - I’m talking make female - doesn’t matter if you’re a mum or not, they have to have a passion and the have to have to really love what they do,” she said, explaining this approach helps with motivation and prevents distraction.

“Women my age are actually one of the greatest users of social media and it’s because we all connect to each other,” she said, citing the AusMumpreneur Facebook page as a supportive service for stay at home mums you want to grow their business.
